Director, Applications - Spatial Biology Division

Bio-Techne seeks a Director of Applications for its Spatial Biology Division to lead the applications organization, develop strategy and roadmap for spatial biology technologies, and oversee a team of applications scientists. This role combines scientific leadership with cross-functional influence to drive commercialization and strengthen the company's market position.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute applications strategy and roadmap for Spatial Biology portfolio aligned with product and business objectives
- Lead, mentor, and develop applications scientists and scientific leaders across multiple global locations
- Partner with Product Management, Marketing, R&D, and Commercial teams to translate capabilities into customer-relevant application stories
- Establish relationships with key opinion leaders, academic institutions, and strategic partners to support application development
- Monitor portfolio performance and organizational effectiveness through KPIs to inform strategic planning and investment decisions
Requirements
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Immunology, Oncology, Pathology, Neuroscience, Bioinformatics, or related field
- 8–10 years of progressive experience in life sciences, molecular biology, translational research, pathology, or spatial biology
- Up to 5 years leading scientific, applications, or translational research teams
- Track record building and managing high-performing scientific organizations
- Experience defining scientific strategies that drive product adoption and business growth
- Expertise managing complex cross-functional programs and influencing senior leadership
Compensation: $175,200–$287,850 base
