Process Operator

Job Title

Location: South Windsor, CT Duration: 12 Months

Responsibilities

• Follow all policies and guidelines regarding workplace safety and product quality.
• Check on equipment throughout the shift to ensure it is working properly.
• Read and clearly follow required processes.
• Contribute to division results and performance.
• Address internal and external customer needs and expectations.
• Operate equipment specific to the area, such as:
• CARBON: Bag products, sample and test; manage spent carbon feed to reactivation furnace; switch tank feed; calibrate PH probes; operate a filter press; run facility wastewater treatment plant.
• REGEN: Sort bottles by size and resin; load and unload deliveries; operate forklift; evacuate bottles.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of site-specific safety training.
• Ability to communicate clearly with team members.
• Basic math skills.
• Site-specific requirements for CARBON: Completion of 40-hour hazardous waste operations training.

Preferred Skills

• Some manufacturing/plant experience.
• Forklift driving experience.
• Knowledge of computers.

Physical Requirements

• Constant ability to sit, stand, hear, and see.
• Frequent ability to walk, write, and type.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to climb and descend stairs.
• Occasional ability to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• May work indoors and outdoors, with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
• Exposure to dust and dirt; work surfaces may include concrete.
• Ability to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.
