Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist Profession: IR Technologist Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 4 x 9 hours with call Hours per Shift: 9 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active Illinois license or confirmation that application process has been initiated Certifications: BLS, ARRT Must-Have: Understanding of drug-free campus policy and ability to produce a negative drug screen Description: The role involves working in the Interventional Radiology department. The department includes six labs for pre-operative and phase 2 recovery. On average, 20-30 cases are performed each day. Job duties include scrubbing, passing supplies, setting up, and taking down the procedure room. Common diagnoses and types of patients include vascular, neuro, drains, and lines. The electronic medical record system in use is EPIC with Phillips monitors. A charge nurse is present during the day shift and does not take patients but will cover lunches. The scheduling includes four 9-hour shifts per week, with both weekday and weekend call requirements. Call response time is 30 minutes. No floating between departments is required. Dress code is provided. Unit-specific orientation lasts approximately 3-5 days in the lab.
