Mechanical Engineer

A growing manufacturer in the Dubuque area is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys product design, manufacturing support, continuous improvement, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring innovative solutions from concept to production. This is a direct hire opportunity. Meaning, the right fit candidate would go directly onto the hiring company's payroll and be eligible for their benefits package. Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and products. Create and maintain 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation. Support new product development and engineering change processes. Collaborate with production, quality, purchasing, and manufacturing teams to resolve engineering and production issues. Analyze designs and manufacturing processes to improve quality, efficiency, and cost. Develop and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation. Assist with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives. Troubleshoot manufacturing and equipment-related issues. Ensure designs comply with applicable safety and quality standards. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Two or more years of mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Experience using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD Knowledge of machining, fabrication, welding, assembly, and manufacturing processes. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and organizational abilities. Ability to manage multiple engineering projects and priorities. Experience with ERP systems and engineering documentation. Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience supporting production and new product implementation.
