Job Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of recent cardiothoracic surgery experience, including EVH proficiency
• Current Physician Assistant certification or certification eligibility from NCCPA
• Active Arizona PA license or eligibility for licensure
• DEA registration required
• ACLS and BLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Experience with cardiothoracic procedures and post-operative patient management
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative team approach

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient support for cardiothoracic surgery patients in the CVICU and step-down setting
• Assist with daily rounding and patient management for approximately 10-15 patients per day
• Support 1-2 surgeries as needed
• Perform procedures such as temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and arterial line placement
• Provide call coverage, including occasional overnight and 24-hour call shifts
• Work closely with the surgeon and care team to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality patient care
• Document thoroughly in Cerner and maintain accurate clinical records
