Community Experience Intern — Flexible Hours

Job Description Community Management Intern Job Objectives Learn to provide an extraordinary customer experience in a retail store setting. Complete product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provide change as requested to cash registers. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience. Job Responsibilities/Tasks Customer Experience Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience. Model and share customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied). Operations Learn from store, pharmacy, district manager, competitors and customers/patients. Engage in a kick‑off and day of service activity. Be responsible and accountable for registering all related sales on the assigned cash register, including records of scanning errors, price verifications, items not on file, price modifications, and voids. Assist the manager or assistant store manager in reviewing order exceptions on order release day and in reverse logistics (e.g., 1506, returns, empty packages). Analyze inventory trends and supervise inventory management, including ordering items, maintaining stock, liquidating stock, and leveraging company resources to avoid outs and overstock. Assist the manager or assistant store manager in evaluating and developing displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise. Complete resets and revisions. Engage in weekly meetings with the store manager or pharmacy manager. Handle basic department pricing and make daily price changes; ensure proper signage is displayed to support accurate product pricing. Complete any additional pricing tasks related to local regulations and/or regulatory compliance programs accurately and within the required timeframe. Assist with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring a clean, neat, and orderly store condition and appearance, and by requesting store or system repairs as needed. Assist with separation of food items (e.g., raw foods from pre‑cooked) and product placement as specified by policies/procedures. For consumable items, assist in stock rotation using the first‑in, first‑out method and restock outs. Have working knowledge of store systems and store equipment. Receive exposure to the analysis of financial and performance data for the store, pharmacy, and clinic, and to the analysis of asset protection data and action plans to reduce loss. Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco products). Work as a group to complete the Intern Team Challenge and present to area, district, and store leaders. Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers. Complete the evaluation of the internship program upon completion. Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned. Training & Personal Development Attend training and complete e‑learnings and special assignments requested by the Manager. Shadow the district leader for the specified time. Communications Report customer complaints to management. Assist the Store Manager in planning and attending community events. External Basic Qualifications Be a student beginning or completing senior year toward a Bachelor’s degree. Be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico). Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Preferred Qualifications Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
