Job Description
Preoperative and PACU Registered Nurse (RN)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

On-call requirement: roughly 3-4 weeknight calls and one 24-hour weekend call in an 8-week period. Call requirement may vary depending on staffing.

• Weeknight call hours: 9 PM - 7 AM
• Weekend call hours: 7 AM - 7 AM
• Available shifts range from:

  • 7 AM - 7 PM
  • 8 AM - 8 PM
  • 9 AM - 9 PM

Job Description

The Preoperative and PACU Registered Nurse is responsible for providing specialized nursing care for patients before and after surgery. The role requires close monitoring of patients, administering medications, and ensuring that patients are adequately prepared for surgery as well as providing recovery support post-surgery.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough preoperative assessments and evaluations
• Implement nursing interventions based on patient needs
• Monitor vital signs and manage patient comfort during recovery
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding surgical procedures
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient care

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license
• Completion of Required Health Checks and Vaccinations, including:
  
  
  • MMR
  • Fit Test
  • Hepatitis B
  • TB Test
  • Varicella
  • Tdap
• Driver's License/State ID
• Drug Screen
• Rhythm Interpretation Exam
• Centralus Color Headshot
