Behavioral Health Technician - Scottsdale, AZ - Weekend Overnight Shift

Overview & Highlights:

• Location: Scottsdale, Arizona
• Schedule: Friday–Sunday, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM (awake overnight shifts)
• Compensation: $20 - $24 per hour
• Benefits: Health, dental, vision, PTO, cell phone, and tuition reimbursement in a related field
• Work Setting: Residential behavioral health program serving adolescents ages 12–17
• On-Site Status: Fully on-site

Location & Logistics:

• Work Environment: Small residential behavioral health setting serving approximately 6–10 adolescent patients, ages 12–17, and their families
• Team: You work alongside another team member throughout each shift and collaborate with clinical, nursing, and leadership teams
• Patient-Facing Responsibilities: Yes — direct supervision and therapeutic support of adolescent residents
• Travel: None
• Residency Requirement: Must live within approximately 10 miles of the facility's North Scottsdale location

We run a supportive residential behavioral health program for adolescents, where teamwork, consistency, and compassionate care make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents and their families. You will help create a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment — and you will never work a shift alone.

The Behavioral Health Technician / Behavioral Health Counselor provides direct supervision, therapeutic support, and daily structure to adolescent residents ages 12–17. Working the weekend overnight schedule, you focus on maintaining safety, monitoring behaviors, reinforcing routines, and contributing to a recovery-oriented residential environment.

Across each awake overnight shift, you observe and document resident behaviors, support emotional regulation and coping skills, assist with activities of daily living, and monitor movement and transitions within the facility. You interact professionally with residents' families and collaborate closely with the clinical, nursing, and leadership teams to support treatment goals.

What We're Looking For:

• Dependable and compassionate, with at least 6 months of behavioral health experience
• Comfortable working awake overnight shifts in a structured residential environment
• Experience with adolescents or in residential or care-based settings
• Values consistency, teamwork, and clear expectations
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Committed to supporting daily routines, emotional regulation, and skill development

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide direct supervision and support to adolescent residents throughout daily routines
• Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic residential environment
• Observe, document, and report patient behaviors, incidents, and progress accurately
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including hygiene, meals, and room upkeep
• Support emotional regulation, coping skills, and positive peer interactions
• Conduct drug screenings in accordance with program protocols
• Participate in therapeutic, educational, and recreational programming
• Monitor resident movement, attendance, and transitions within the facility
• Collaborate with clinical, nursing, and leadership teams to support treatment goals
• Communicate professionally and appropriately with residents and their families
• Uphold confidentiality, professional boundaries, and ethical standards; maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards
• Remain awake and attentive throughout the entire overnight shift

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 6 months of behavioral health experience
• High school diploma or GED
• Must pass required background checks
• Must possess or be eligible for a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Must live within approximately 10 miles of the facility's North Scottsdale location
• Must be available Friday–Sunday, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, and able to remain awake for the entire overnight shift

Preferred Background:

• 1–2 years of behavioral health experience
• Experience working with adolescents or in residential or care-based settings
• Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
