POSITION SUMMARY
The original FACES for the Future Health Scholars program was established in 2000 at Children’s Hospital of Oakland; in 2011 FACES programs moved under the fiscal sponsorship of Public Health Institute, which allowed the creation of FACES for the Future Coalition ( ). The Coalition, now national, both runs its own programs in California and New Mexico and supports affiliate members in San Diego and Colorado. Innovative and health careers focused, there are three main FACES programs: Health Scholars, Public Health Youth Corps, and the Summer Medical Academy. All FACES programs serve public high school students interested in public, medical, behavioral and global health careers. The Coalition’s work also includes new program and curriculum development, technical assistance consulting, evaluation, marketing and communications, and fund development. The FACES for the Future Coalition is looking for a Program Coordinator for the FACES program in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The FACES program will be working with students and teachers to create work-based learning experiences to build capacity at partner school sites. This person will be primarily responsible for the planning, coordination, and supervision of daily operations. This includes host advisory committee meetings, implementation and supervision of clinical internship placements and rotations, academic support and mentoring, and coordination of the wellness program for students. The Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all students meet the program expectations regarding training, performance, rules and behavior. The Program Coordinator will work to guarantee that program materials are current and relevant, that operations run in a smooth and effective manner, and that open and regular communication exists with all program partners and stakeholders including health care professionals, health agency administration, school administration, teachers, students and families. This is a time-limited, part-time (50% FTE) position that is expected to have a work schedule of 20 hours/week and end on May 28, 2027, with a possibility to extend based on funding availability. This hybrid position is required to work remotely in the region of Albuquerque, NM and in person at school sites in Albuquerque, NM where student activities take place. The incumbent must have access to reliable transportation and ability to commute to various locations within a workday for community outreach, FACES events, and health pathways including, but not limited to, health fairs, recruitment events, and community showcases, and attending meetings with health employer partners as required. Full salary range for this position: $65,962 to $94,454 per year at 100% FTE. The typical hiring range for this position is from $32,981 (minimum) to $40,104 (midpoint), based on 50% FTE. The starting salary is determined using a variety of factors, such as the candidate’s knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as internal equity consideration and budget availability. Employment Type: Part Time ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Program Coordination (50% of the Time) Schedule, facilitate, and teach workshops and trainings for students focused on health professions, college preparation, professional skills, wellness, and other assigned topics Coordinate FACES events including Blue Coat Ceremony, graduations, field trips, and other special events Recruit students, provide training to prepare students and preceptors for internships Coordinate all necessary steps to on-board students into work-based learning including health screening requirements and communication with parents/guardians Develop and coordinate work-based learning opportunities for students in partnership with health employers and preceptors Maintain adequate, organized documentation including databases and all program materials including, but not limited to, student information and records, curriculum, workshops attendance, evaluations, and program expenses Complete progress reports, data entry, and updates on time Student Support (20% of the Time) Act as a consistent mentor and caring adult for FACES students Provide individualized support to students and coordinate connections to support services Maintain regular oversight and evaluation of FACES for the Future students Support program alumni through check-ins and alumni engagement opportunities Partner Coordination (20% of the Time) Communicate effectively with all stakeholders and partners, including families, academic partners, health partners, and community service providers Provide regular written program updates to a multitude of stakeholders, including health employers, academic partners, and families as appropriate Work in close association with education partners and teachers at school sites including presenting, co-developing curriculum as needed, and building capacity onsite Coordinate and participate in community outreach efforts of FACES programs; attend all relevant meetings with stakeholders Participate in relevant school and community health events to promote student accomplishments, FACES programming, and recruit potential health professionals Recruit health employer partners to provide work-based learning and job shadowing opportunities, and mentorship to students Coordinate and provide training and skills-building opportunities to academic partners, health employers and preceptors, and community members as applicable Coordinate advisory committee stakeholder meetings and recruit members as applicable Coalition Support (10% of the Time) Participate in team meetings, professional development activities, and required trainings as assigned Support curriculum development efforts to increase program effectiveness Perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Minimum Qualifications 3 years of related work experience. Bachelor’s degree, or substitute with four additional years of related experience. Other Qualifications Bi-lingual / Multi-lingual candidates highly preferred. Experience with program development a plus. General knowledge of current health care delivery systems, both hospital-based and community-based as well as general knowledge of careers and pathways for health, public health, mental and behavioral health, and global health. Experience working with high school aged youth and under-represented, high-risk youth populations in essential. Exceptional organizational and time management skills, problem solving, dependability and integrity. Ability to manage multiple types of relationships in professional, educational and outreach settings including moving effortlessly between relationships with students and families, educators and health professionals. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize projects with short deadlines. Must be flexible, adaptable, and responsive to changing work priorities. Proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point (Microsoft Office). Familiarity with Access is a plus. Ability to take initiative toward improving the overall success of the program. Familiarity with Albuquerque health and academic landscape a plus. Must be community oriented and highly motivated. Experience working with and/or for non-profits organizations is helpful.
