SUMMARY OF POSITION
The General Manager is a senior leadership position responsible for all aspects of restaurant operations, including team leadership, service standards, financial performance, and guest experience at Casa Juani. The General Manager will set the standard for service, drive operational excellence, and foster a culture of hospitality. The General Manager is a dynamic and detail-oriented leader with a proven success in fine dining establishments and high-volume restaurants who seeks continuous improvement and delivers the very best results.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Provide leadership across all food and beverage operations and ensuring consistency and excellence at every level
- Oversee front of house and back of house operations
- Oversee service, culinary, and teams to deliver a seamless guest experience
- Deliver exceptional guest experiences by maintaining high service standards, building relationships, and personally engaging with guests to gather feedback and continuously improve
- Collaborate closely with the Ownership and Chefs to develop menus, seasonal offerings, and promotions that highlight creativity, quality, and profitability
- Recruit, train, and mentor staff, cultivating a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professional growth
- Develop beverage program and beverage recipes
- Lead daily pre-shift meetings, weekly F&B leadership meetings, and regular report to ownership with updates and progress
- Oversee compliance with all health, safety, and labor laws while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation
- Monitor financial performance through budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, implementing strategies to maximize revenue while maintaining service and quality
- Manage vendor relationships, oversee purchasing and inventory systems, and ensure effective supply chain operations
- Oversee TIPS certification for all staff serving alcohol, including maintaining record of good standing and renewal status
- Serve as a visible leader on the floor, resolving issues in real time and ensuring smooth daily operations across the restaurant
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5 years of related food, beverage and/or service management experience in a fine dining atmosphere
- Preferred 10+ years of related food, beverage and/or service management experience in a fine dining atmosphere.
- Strong background is FOH and BOH operations and service
- Food Sanitation Certification and TIPS Certification
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead, motivate and manage a large high-performing restaurant team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent financial acumen, math skills and computer proficiency
- Ability to manage budget, control costs and drive revenue
- Be able to stand/walk for long periods of time
- Able to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Ability to work 50 hours per week.
- Be able to lift 50 pounds numerous times and bend and reach frequently
- Hands-on leader who can balance long-term goals with daily operational needs
