Software Engineer Staff- Level 4 SW Lead/Product Owner - TS

About the Role Space Protection Programs is seeking an experienced Software Engineer who can guide a team through complex mission software development lifecycle. The selected candidate will take ownership of software development and integration activities, applying software engineering standards and techniques, including Object‑Oriented Design and Agile development methods. The role includes frequent collaboration with engineering disciplines and customers. Responsibilities Participate in embedded software development, integration, and/or software test activities. Lead architecture and detailed design of complex CSCs and CSCIs. Act as a leading member of an Agile development team, participating in Agile Release Planning, Sprint Planning, and guiding execution, while mentoring team members. Serve as a role model for the team, leading by example. Exercise considerable latitude in determining approaches to assignments. Independently learn new tools. Identify opportunities for improvement in current processes and implement new processes. Basic Qualifications Ability to design embedded software solutions to address complex problems. Experience leading a software team as accountable technical lead or product owner. Embedded programming experience in C/C++ and Python. Comfortable working in an Agile Scrum environment. Active TS Security Clearance. Desired Skills Knowledge of embedded systems architectures and experience testing embedded systems. Experience integrating complex software systems with high‑performance and/or timing constraints. Prior knowledge of embedded and/or MPSoC architectures. Demonstrated experience using Agile methodology in development, integration, and test of complex software systems. Programming background in C/C++ and Python. Experience with leading process improvement initiatives. Experience with program lifecycle execution from concept through end‑of‑life. Comfortable working in a fast‑paced and dynamic multi‑disciplinary environment. Security Clearance Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. This position requires a government security clearance; active Top Secret clearance is required and applicants must be U.S. citizens. Compensation and Benefits Annual base salary range: $113,900–$200,905 (varies by location).
