Warehouse Employee
The job duties of warehouse employees can vary within the warehouse operation. Functional areas may include shipping, receiving, scanning, storage, issuance, extraction, loading, and inventory of automotive parts, supplies, and equipment. Warehouse employees are responsible for the precise manual and non-manual movement of cargo, inventory, or other materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment. Parts Warehouse Inc. (PWI) prides itself on working alongside the "Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts" family.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Move cargo, inventory, and other materials to and from storage and production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, and containers, by hand or using trucks,
- Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure inventory is protected.
- Receive and process orders, review orders to verify they are complete and clear.
- Complete any missing information or contact the customer to obtain any necessary information.
- Read work orders or receive verbal instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs.
- Record the number of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
- Organize cargo before loading and unloading.
- Push and pull pallets of merchandise using pallet jacks or forklifts.
- Read orders to determine part numbers, sizes, colors, and quantities of merchandise.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Language Skills
Ability to read a limited number of two or three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Be able to print and pronounce simple sentences.
Mathematical Skills
Be able to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide by tens and hundreds. Be able to perform these operations using American money units and measures of weight, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Skills
Be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions. Be able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
Basic knowledge and ability to use a computer.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to high places and precarious locations. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually high. Employees are required to wear appropriate safety clothing in the warehouse, including closed-toe shoes. Employees are not permitted to wear headphones or any other devices that interfere with their ability to hear.
