Principal Backend Software Engineer

Salary: $174,051 - 273,775 per year Requirements:

• Were looking for 10+ years of experience in multiple hands-on software or technology leadership roles, with end-to-end ownership across the software development lifecycle.
• A bachelors degree is required, with a preference for Computer Science.
• Strong expertise in one or more major programming languages such as Java, Python, Kotlin, Go, or Scala is required.
• We need experience with SaaS, PaaS, or IaaS environments, along with hands-on work using public cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.
• You should be able to assess trade-offs between correctness, resilience, performance, and space/time efficiency.
• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing decision-makers across the organization is important.
• You should consistently consider customer impact when making technical decisions.

• We expect you to remove blockers across the software development lifecycle, from technical design through launch.
• You will design and deliver solutions used by other teams and products, including defining approaches for large-scale initiatives.
• You will address complex architectural challenges, apply architecture standards, and introduce them into new work.
• You will lead code reviews and documentation, and handle difficult bug fixes, especially for high-risk issues.
• You will set the benchmark for effective code review practices and collaborate across engineering teams on company-wide projects.
• You will leverage your existing language expertise to grow and excel as a software engineer.
• You will mentor junior team members and support their development.
