2nd Shift Hose Fabricator (General Assembly)

Position Summary Hose Fabricators operate a variety of manufacturing equipment to create hose and fitting assemblies and perform tests and quality checks on finished products. Work expectations and requirements may change based on need and availability. Responsibilities Performs hose assembly, ensuring the standard work process is followed, in a Work Center team environment. Operates and sets up manufacturing equipment and saws. Qualified and willing to run all production lines as needed during shifts. Participates in HPT. Performs daily maintenance and cleaning of equipment. Works safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures to eliminate risk to health and the environment. Notifies leadership of unsafe conditions or practices that present unreasonable health or environmental risk. Reports all safety and/or environmental incidents to leadership immediately. Participates in peer‑based teams such as Natural High Performance Teams, and works with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5‑S. Conducts in‑process inspection and enters work order data into the router. Communicates workflow problems and equipment needs to the Team Lead and/or Supervisor. Understands and supports corporate initiatives such as Lean. Supports and participates in Parker’s “Lean” initiatives, keeping the work area clean and organized. Supports and commits to Parker’s Code of Ethics. Follows all department policies and procedures. Attendance and punctuality are required. Maintains an achieving or higher productivity rating while operating assembly cells. Continues to keep current in skills through training, classes, and on‑the‑job training. Completes daily scrap reports, production tracking sheets, and production boards. Capable of cross‑training within multiple areas, creating flexibility and understanding. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education required: Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Experience: Production work preferred but not required. Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Able to effectively communicate with other operators. Excellent interpersonal and team‑building skills. Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills. Basic understanding of shop math and measuring skills, including conversion of fractions and decimals. Good organizational and PC skills. Other Skills: Ability to work well in a team environment. Assessment: Must pass pre‑employment screening. Organizational Relationships / Scope Reports directly to the VSTL. Works closely with all value stream team leads, shop floor employees, production control, and engineering. Work Requirements Work intensity: None at all, Occasional, Frequent, Continuous (percent of workday). Repetitions per hour: 4‑6, 6‑12, >12. Lift / Carry: Up to 10 lbs.; 11‑30 lbs. Physical tasks: Bending, Twist/turn, Reach below knee, Push / pull, Squat / kneel, Stand / walk, Sit, No lifting above shoulders. Working Conditions High noise levels from operating machines and equipment. Physical hazards from being around machines and moving items. Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel‑toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection). Standing is required for extended periods of time. Walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting are performed regularly. Requires a high degree of manual dexterity under restrictive conditions.
