About the Role The Senior Process Engineer role is divided into two focus areas: Operations Performance, and New Process & Capacity. Responsibilities Operations Focus: Responsible for managing, providing guidance and direction to Process Engineering resources inside a Business Unit. Implementation of actions to eliminate quality, safety or other operational issues. Coach process engineers and/or other technical resources into the disciplined DSB Technologies problem-solving approach. Own the process and equipment used to produce parts. Manage or facilitate projects directed to improve operations performance such as: improve safety, improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), improve product quality, reduce labor utilization, reduce perishable tools consumption, improve process flow and equipment layout, amongst others. Works closely with New Product Launch team and manufacturing, providing support to the New Launch Product Engineers. New Process & Capacity Focus: Responsible for the identification, development and effective implementation of new processes, new technologies and/or new equipment to support current and future needs. Monitors and tracks near and long-term capital, facility and capacity requirements, when applicable. Supports the development of short term and long-term facility planning projects for the business. Manages critical projects through the use of available planning tools, cross-functional team involvement, and effective communication throughout the organization. Develop and maintain capacity models for key assets utilizing current year sales forecasts and long-range sales plans. Identify strategies to address under capacity situations prior to them limiting our ability to satisfy customer requirements in a cost-effective manner. Champions both short term and long-range facility planning projects by identifying ongoing floor space requirements and options as derived from the capacity planning model.
