Job Title: Registered Nurse - Psych 12 Hour Nights

Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the psychiatric unit will provide care for child/adolescent and adult psychiatric patients. The RN will administer medication, evaluate care plans, document progress, perform assessments, and ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities:

• Administer injectable and oral medications, evaluate care plans, and document patient progress.
• Perform admission screens, assessments, minor wound care, EKGs, and discharge planning.
• Maintain patient safety rounds every 15 minutes and log in patient belongings.
• Utilize verbal de-escalation and group didactic skills; ability to perform physical restraint if necessary.
• Participate in the Behavioral Emergency Response Team (BERT) if required.

Requirements:

• Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience; BLS and CPI certifications preferred.
• Proficiency in verbal communication and group facilitation skills.
• Experience with EPIC charting system and Omnicell medication dispensing is required.
