Overview: Join a dedicated healthcare team providing compassionate care in a Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) Intensive Care Unit and Critical Care Unit. This full-time, day-shift role involves delivering essential patient care, supporting nursing staff, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. Key Responsibilities:
This position is located in a regional healthcare setting serving the Southeastern United States. The role offers a supportive environment focused on patient-centered care and professional growth.
- Assist with patient admissions, including orientation to unit routines and equipment.
- Respond promptly to patient needs, providing direct assistance or notifying appropriate personnel.
- Support the nursing care plan by performing delegated patient care tasks.
- Ensure patient safety through proper use of equipment and supplies.
- Manage and maintain stocked and clean patient care areas.
- Participate in cost containment and accurate patient service charging.
- Engage in educational and performance improvement activities.
- Perform waived testing and maintain required skills per unit competency.
- Demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction and efficient patient throughput.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
- Current registration with the appropriate state nursing assistant registry.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- No prior experience required; willingness to learn and adapt is essential.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Understanding of age-specific patient care considerations.
- Ability to work variable shifts with significant standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Capability to turn and lift patients safely.
- Visual and auditory acuity to observe patient conditions.
- Exposure to blood and body fluids with adherence to safety protocols.
