Scientist II provides technical and manufacturing support for Phoenix ID/AST products at Waters (formerly BD Biosciences). Responsibilities include raw material screening, broth formulation troubleshooting, stability testing, and coordination between quality control and product support teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute laboratory protocols for raw material screening and AST broth manufacturing
- Perform Phoenix ID/AST testing including culture preparation, panel setup, and documentation
- Support out-of-specification and quality investigations by executing test plans and assessing root causes
- Conduct feasibility, stability, qualification, and validation testing for raw materials and process changes
- Serve as technical liaison between quality control and product support, coordinating testing and resolving issues
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in microbiology, biochemistry, or related science
- Minimum 3 years laboratory and manufacturing/quality experience in life sciences
- Experience with microorganisms and aseptic technique
- Background in microbiology laboratory science and biochemical techniques
- Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Excel and Statistica
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and support investigations
