Financial Analyst / Cost Accountant II

Location: Greenfield, IN (Onsite) Job Type: Full-Time/Permanent

Position Overview

We are seeking a Financial Analyst / Cost Accountant II to support cost accounting, financial analysis, and reporting within a manufacturing environment. This role involves analyzing material costs, developing pricing strategies, monitoring variances, and forecasting financial trends to aid business decision-making.

Depending on experience and qualifications, this position may be considered for an upgrade to Senior Financial Analyst / Cost Accountant.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Analysis & Financial Reporting

• Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs to support financial planning.
• Compare actual manufacturing expenses with budgeted costs and generate variance reports.
• Maintain and enhance cost accounting systems for accurate expenditure tracking.
• Conduct cost audits and compile detailed financial reports.
• Assess financial impacts of changes in product design, raw materials, and manufacturing processes.

Quoting & Pricing Strategy

• Develop cost estimates for new and proposed products, ensuring competitive pricing models.
• Maintain cost/pricing quotations and conduct post-project financial evaluations.
• Provide management with insights on pricing strategies, profitability, and cost efficiency.

Inventory Valuation & Reconciliation

• Assist in inventory valuation, reconciliation, and financial reporting, including:
• Work-in-progress (WIP) and finished goods valuation.
• Analysis of excess and obsolete inventory.
• Monthly reconciliation of perpetual inventory and general ledger balances.
• Support month-end financial closing with a focus on inventory-related entries.

Performance Tracking & Standardization

• Develop and implement standardized financial reporting systems and cost-tracking tools.
• Prepare monthly performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to establish and maintain cost standards.
• Regularly assess pricing models and recommend adjustments to enhance profitability.
• Forecast future costs to support strategic pricing and budgeting initiatives.

Collaboration & Travel

• Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and leadership teams to improve cost analysis and pricing strategies.
• Occasional travel to manufacturing facilities may be required.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience & Education

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

Technical & Analytical Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a deep understanding of cost accounting principles.
• Experience with cost accounting systems and financial reporting tools preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (logical, lookup, and math functions), Outlook, and Word.
• Familiarity with Workwise ERP is a plus.

Soft Skills

• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
