About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Compact license required Certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, ACLS preferred Must-Have: Epic experience required Previous charge experience preferred Ability to float to post-partum and low-risk labor and delivery Description: Will accept 13 or 26-week contracts. Candidates may request up to 2 major holidays off. The unit only requires travelers to work 1 of 3 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Eve, New Year’s Eve). This facility offers a beautiful campus with great camaraderie among staff, including book clubs and group dinners. All active compact licenses are honored. 2 years of experience in labor and delivery is required. First-time travelers are accepted. Patient diagnoses include labor and preterm labor. The unit features 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms. Staff will circulate in OB-GYN, post-op, pre-op, scrub, low-risk antepartum, and low-risk labor and delivery. Special procedures include blood and blood product administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, and use of epidural pumps and PCA pumps. The facility performs GYN surgeries and includes a transition nursery. The staffing ratio ranges from 1:1 to 1:3. Candidates are expected to float to other departments based on their skill set. Candidates must commit to working 3 out of 5 designated holidays. References covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years are required. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities.
