Description

American Traveler seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist for a 13-week hospital assignment requiring at least 1 year of CVOR experience and NBSTSA or NCCT certification.

Details

• Cardiovascular OR unit within a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level III trauma hospital
• 6 total ORs including 4 standard ORs, 1 hybrid OR, and 1 PV OR
• Case types include CABG, AVR, MVR, TVR, aortic aneurysm/dissection repair, total artificial heart, heart transplant, LVAD implantation, minimally invasive and trans-catheter valve replacements
• Vascular cases include AAA repair, thoracic/thoracoabdominal aneurysm repair with fenestrated grafts, endarterectomy, peripheral bypass, amputation, and ECMO decannulation
• Day and evening shifts available (6:45 AM-3:15 PM, 9:30 AM-6:00 PM, or 2:45 PM-11:15 PM)
• On-call requirements of up to 2 weekends per month and up to 2 weekdays per week, plus holiday call as needed
• No floating to sister facilities required
• Uses Epic/Excellian EMR for charting
• Scrubs provided by facility

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in CVOR required
• NBSTSA or NCCT certification required
• BLS certification required
• License required if applicable
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Experience with vascular procedures including AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, EVAR, TEVAR, and femoral popliteal bypass required
• Experience with cardiovascular procedures including CABG, TAVR, VAD implantation, and mitral valve replacement required
• Proficiency in aseptic technique, instrument processing, and sterilization/disinfection required
• 1 supervisor reference required

Additional Information

• Support cardiac, vascular, and hybrid OR cases in a high-acuity surgical environment
• Perform sterile field setup, instrumentation preparation, and case cart management for complex cardiovascular procedures
• Participate in Universal Protocol time-out procedures and specimen handling
• May float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted
• Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility unless applying to a radiology position
• Returning staff must have a 3-month gap since their last shift worked as a perm employee (staff or per diem)
• RTO ideally limited to no more than 5 days during the assignment
