Medical Technologist Microbiology

Job DescriptionDiagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO)Location: Oklahoma City, OKHours: 4pm-2:30am (4-10 hour shifts) rotating weekends and holidaysEssential Functions:Report to work on time and prepared for each scheduled shiftPerform all assigned duties and processes, including tasks for which you are fully qualified and those within your demonstrated capabilitiesMaintain a positive, professional, and supportive attitude throughout the workdayWork collaboratively as a team member and contribute to a respectful, productive work environmentResponsibilities:Perform tests in microbiology and assist with specimen processing as needed.Follow employer policies, work with fellow employees in a professional, productive manner, and perform instrument maintenance and troubleshootingQualifications:Required Knowledge: General laboratory knowledge, including the ability to use computers. Must have knowledge of QA and QC. Previous experience in Microbiology or Molecular Biology preferred.Education Requirements: BS in chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science/medical laboratory technology; Previously qualified as a technologist under 42 CFR 493.1489Credentials: ASCP or equivalent exam eligible within 1-3 years, MLT/MLS certification preferredSpecial Requirements:Ability to maintain a professional courteous and pleasant attitude in times of heavy workload and stress.Teamwork with fellow employees is a must.Keyboard skills are important.Good customer service skills, professional appearance and attitude.Must work overtime or other shifts if required.Able to work 10 hour shifts, rotating weekends and holidays.About the Team:Quest Diagnostics honors our service members and encourages veterans to apply.
