Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU Stepdown/PCU position requiring an active CO or Compact RN license and NIH Stroke Certification.

Job Details

• Work in the ICU Stepdown unit of a cardiac center of excellence, high-acuity hospital setting,
• 20-bed unit staffed with RNs and PCTs,
• Patient ratio of 1:4,
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge RN, 5 nurses, 3 PCTs; night shift includes 1 charge RN, 5 nurses, 2 PCTs,
• Uses telemetry and transport monitors, suction, feeding pumps, trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow, chest tubes, Foleys, pacer wires/pacers, IV pumps, and SCD pumps,
• Performs procedures such as chest tube placement/removal, pacer wire removal, and 12-lead EKGs,
• Manages drips including heparin, Tikosyn, diltiazem, amiodarone, nitro, Lasix, and ketamine,
• Uses Meditech EMR,
• 13-week assignment on a 5P-5A night shift schedule,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (CO or Compact) currently in hand,
• Minimum 1 year of current PCU experience required,
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification,
• Cardiac and extensive neuro experience preferred,
• No gaps in work history totaling 90+ days within the past 12 months,
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration (Canadian SSN not accepted),
• One professional reference required,
