Set up and changeover machines, load and edit programs, and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance. Install and align tooling, dies, fixtures, and gauges as required. Troubleshoot equipment and identify problems with tooling and machine adjustments. Maintain quality standards, inspecting the product and adjusting machinings as needed to meet product specifications. Check product visually with fixed gauges and prints, including first piece inspections. Determine the cause of operating difficulties and take corrective action. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment when required. Move materials within the work area. Adhere to company policies and procedures to produce a quality product/service, including reporting non-conforming materials. Report unusual conditions or questionable items to lead or supervisor. Adhere to all safety rules and regulations. Keep work area clean and orderly. Maintain accurate records as required. Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned. The Toolbox (Qualifications) High school diploma or GED required. 1 to 3 years’ related experience; minimum 1 year required. Demonstrated mechanical ability. Knowledge of tooling and tooling maintenance. Proven ability to use calipers and measurement tools to 1/32”. Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Able to read blueprints and interpret measurements. Experience working with sheet metal and able to distinguish material types including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. Able to work overtime hours (more than 40 hours per week and Saturdays) as required. Stand and walk continuously for 8-10 hours, if necessary.
