Registered Nurse Ortho Neuro Coordinator Operating Room

Position Summary The RN Ortho/Neuro Coordinator works closely with operating room physicians and vendors to ensure appropriate equipment and supplies are available for cases. The position coordinates case selection, updates physician maps, and collaborates with staff to educate them on new equipment, procedures, and changes. Core Functions Coordinate oversight of quality, risk management, safety, and nursing standards to provide quality patient care. Determine and direct staffing needs of the unit or department on a shift-to-shift basis. Support continuity of care and communication between departments, institutions, and across the continuum to ensure positive patient outcomes. Assist in oversight of staff and patient workflow, facilitating interdepartmental teamwork and resource utilization. Participate in evaluation processes by providing input and contributing to nursing quality indicators and outcomes. Supervise staff when appropriate and coordinate daily workflow for the unit. Enforce unit/department policy, procedures, and standards of care and assist with unit education. Engage in professional activities that promote excellent patient outcomes. Minimum Qualifications Current, valid RN license in the state of practice (or temporary or compact RN license). BLS certification. Valid ongoing training and education relevant to the specialty area. One year of experience in an acute care hospital setting, with recent experience within the past 12 months. Demonstrated clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area of practice through annual validations. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Professional certification.
