Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Location

Chesapeake, VA | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12 or 4x12 shifts available | Every other weekend, floating, and holidays required within the contract period

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a high-volume post-surgical unit serving urology and GYN surgical populations
• Manage a patient assignment in a telemetry-monitored environment with a typical ratio of 1:7
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms including sinus rhythms, heart blocks, lethal rhythms, atrial rhythms, junctional rhythms, and pacing
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support post-surgical recovery and patient safety
• Document all patient care accurately using Epic EMR

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of recent relevant RN experience in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry setting
• Active Virginia RN license or Compact RN license in hand at time of submission — no exceptions
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
• Proficiency in Epic EMR required — no exceptions
• Must pass a telemetry/EKG competency test with a score of 80% or higher prior to start (one attempt given; no remediation available)
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; driver's license required for address verification

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Experience caring for urology and/or GYN surgical patient populations
• Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills across a broad range of rhythm types
