Exciting Opportunity for Med/Surg RN - Night Shift Job Description: - Provide direct and personalized nursing care to patients using evidence-based nursing principles. - Collaborate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans. - Prepare and administer medications via oral, subcutaneous, or IV routes; maintain accurate records of administration. - Monitor patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments as per nursing protocols. - Educate patients on surgical procedures and post-treatment home care needs. - Maintain detailed records of patients’ medical information and vital signs. - Monitor and adjust specialized medical equipment; interpret and document electronic displays. - Initiate corrective actions for any adverse symptoms displayed by patients. - Provide bedside care to a diverse range of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery care. - Develop and implement patient education plans, teaching patients and families to manage their health post-treatment. - Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs as required. - Prepare equipment and assist physicians during patient examinations and treatments. - Respond effectively to life-saving situations based on established nursing standards and protocols. - Participate actively in discharge planning to ensure seamless transitions for patients. - Utilize strong time management skills for efficient patient care. - Document all care information accurately and completely, ensuring timely updates on the appropriate forms. - Perform additional duties as assigned, tailored to the specific healthcare setting. Requirements: - Must hold current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (from the American Heart Association). - Valid RN license in Wyoming or a multi-state RN license must be provided. - A completed SageWest cover sheet must accompany your submission. Years of Experience: - Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required.
