ReconCraft, a leading manufacturer of specialized marine vessels, is seeking a Buyer to join our procurement team in Clackamas, Oregan. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing components, materials, and parts necessary for the production of our high-performance vessels. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of supply chain processes, and experience in marine or industrial manufacturing environments. Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): Sourcing & Procurement: Research and identify reliable suppliers of parts and components for marine vessel production. Evaluate vendor bids, quality, delivery times, and prices to ensure optimal purchasing decisions. Negotiate pricing and contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and maintain cost efficiency. Issue and manage purchase orders for direct materials, components, and indirect goods using ERP systems. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the production team to ensure timely supply of parts without overstocking. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure the continuity of supply and quality control. Order Placement & Follow-up: Place purchase orders for parts, ensuring timely delivery to meet production schedules. Track order statuses, manage any delays or shortages, and communicate updates to relevant departments. Cost Control: Conduct regular cost analysis and budgeting to ensure purchases remain within the company's financial guidelines. Identify cost-saving opportunities through alternative sourcing or bulk purchasing strategies. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate purchasing records, contracts, and vendor agreements. Generate regular reports on purchasing activities, vendor performance, and cost-saving achievements. Work closely with the engineering and production teams to understand specific parts requirements. Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address any supplier quality issues or discrepancies. Essential Job Qualifications and Requirements: Education : Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree Required Knowledge/Experience : Minimum of three (3) years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in marine or industrial manufacturing Familiarity with marine parts, components, and suppliers is highly desirable Required Skills/Abilities : Strong negotiation and vendor management skills Ability to read technical drawings and specifications Proficiency with procurement software and ERP systems Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills Working Conditions : Office-based role with occasional visits to the production floor or suppliers’ facilities Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines Position Pay Range

$60,000 - $65,000 USD
