Job Details Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Setting: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Step-Down Unit Location: Olathe, KS 66061 Start Date: 09/13/2026 Duration: 16 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights Shift Duration: 12 hours Shifts Per Week: 3 Hours Per Week: 36 Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130 Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend On-Call: None Floating: Required to float to ICU and inpatient units including Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and ED as needed Orientation: Structured unit and system orientation provided EMR: Epic Job Requirements Active Kansas RN license or compact RN license BLS, ACLS, and NIH certification required 2 years of recent critical care, ICU, emergency department, or progressive care nursing experience required Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to work independently Experience with BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and drawing labs Comfortable working without a vascular access team and managing consults and codes independently Open-heart Day 2 or Day 3 experience with pacer wires preferred Must be comfortable with a patient ratio of 3:1 to 4:1 Ability to complete required onboarding and credentialing within assigned timelines Must comply with a nicotine-free facility policy Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to progressive care patients with complex medical needs Monitor patient status, assess changes, and respond quickly to evolving conditions Administer medications, perform assessments, and coordinate treatment plans Support patients requiring respiratory support and hemodynamic interventions Manage IV therapy, lab draws, and procedural support as needed Collaborate with physicians, critical care staff, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective patient care Float to ICU and other inpatient areas based on staffing needs and experience Participate in holiday coverage and every-other-weekend scheduling Document care accurately in the Epic EMR system Bring a team-oriented, adaptable approach to a fast-paced clinical environment Why Consider This Travel Nurse Job?
