Traveling Construction Superintendent

As a Traveling Construction Superintendent, you will serve as the primary on-site lead for commercial building projects. Your mission is to oversee all construction phases, guaranteeing that every task is executed safely, stays within the financial plan, and adheres strictly to the project timeline and technical requirements. This position demands consistent travel to various job locations to manage personnel, track construction milestones, and uphold high standards of quality. This role centers on the essential leadership and oversight functions of a superintendent, specifically focusing on the management of scheduling, regulatory inspections, rigorous quality control, and the maintenance of a safe job site environment. Pay Range: $100,000–$125,000 per year Retirement Savings Plan (401k) 10 Days of Paid Time Off (accrued after one year) 6 Paid Annual Holidays Company Vehicle or Monthly Stipend Status: Full-Time Reporting Line: Project Manager Travel Requirements: Daily site visits Primary Responsibilities Organize and manage the workflow of vendors, consultants, and subcontractors to maintain the critical path. Help ensure high-quality construction outcomes by conducting daily inspections of all work. Maintain clear communication with the project team regarding RFIs, ASIs, and material submittals. Verify that all subcontractors are strictly adhering to their defined scopes of work. Coordinate with local authorities to ensure all necessary inspections are scheduled and completed. Promote a safer working environment by proactively identifying and correcting safety, health, and environmental hazards. Identify potential construction conflicts and report them immediately to facilitate quick resolutions. Document daily progress and site activities in a formal written log. Ensure that subcontractors address and rectify any identified deficiencies in a timely manner. Conduct daily site walkthroughs to monitor progress and assist in strategic planning. Facilitate weekly coordination meetings with all active subcontractors. Issue formal notices when work or scheduling requirements are not met. Maintain a clean and orderly job site to improve overall efficiency. Manage the completion of both progress and final punch lists to ensure project closure. Support the team in securing necessary permits or approvals for design revisions. Identify any work performed that falls outside the original subcontracted scope. Manage daily site security by overseeing the opening and closing of the facility. Help maintain project profitability and schedule adherence through diligent management. Required Qualifications 3–5 years of relevant professional experience. Proven track record in commercial construction for projects valued between $250K and $5M. Associate degree or higher. Current OSHA certification. Proficiency in essential software, including: Microsoft Office Suite Microsoft Project Sage CM Clock Shark Holobuilder Leadership Scope Provide guidance and problem-solving support for a team of 30+ subcontractors and vendors. Physical stamina to traverse job sites up to 200,000 sq ft, including navigating stairs, ladders, and multi-story structures. Daily computer usage for 4–5 hours.
