We provide full Primary Care services Monday through Friday, complemented by dedicated Urgent Care available seven days a week from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM. This schedule ensures continuity of care and a variety of patient needs, allowing you to utilize skills in pet wellness, prevention, testing and diagnostics, and advanced surgical procedures. Job Description Emma Vet is seeking a Part-Time Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our Urgent Care team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and compassionate technician who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic clinical environment. Compensation: $35 - $38 Sign on Bonus - $1500 Practice Overview: Urgent Care & General Practice 3 Doctors Tentative Schedule: Thursday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM Friday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM Saturday: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM Hospital Hours: Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 11:00 PM Saturday–Sunday: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality nursing care to urgent and emergency patients Assist veterinarians with diagnostics, treatments, and procedures Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, and monitoring of patients Accurately document patient care and communicate with the medical team Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient treatment area Qualifications: Current Virginia Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential required Experience in urgent care or emergency medicine preferred (but not required) Strong technical, multitasking, and problem-solving skills Ability to remain calm and efficient in high-pressure situations Team-oriented with a positive, professional attitude If you are a dedicated LVT looking for a part-time urgent care role with consistent evening and weekend hours, we would love to hear from you. Your Impact as an Urgent Care LVT Note: The Licensed Veterinary Technician title is used in various states based on state-specific licensing and credentialing requirements. Responsibilities may vary depending on the hospital and/or state and will be outlined by the state’s Veterinary Practice Act and/or the responsible veterinarian, where applicable. Lead and Elevate Your Team: In a fast-paced setting, you\'ll guide and support your colleagues, ensuring a smooth workflow and fostering a focused, collaborative atmosphere. Ensure Seamless Care: Your clear and accurate record-keeping in a fast-paced environment will be crucial for patient handoffs, case management, and effective team communication. What You'll Bring to the Team A calm, efficient, and decisive approach, especially during medical emergencies. Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program and a current state license in good standing. Proficiency in a range of technical skills, with a strong aptitude for emergency procedures, anesthesia monitoring, and critical care nursing. Confidence in handling animals of all temperaments and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and a passion for working collaboratively under pressure. One year of experience in a veterinary setting is preferred; urgent care or emergency experience is a plus!
