Student Worker (Paid Position) VI APEX Accelerator – Administrative & Marketing
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Virgin Islands APEX Accelerator provides free government contracting assistance to businesses headquartered in the territory looking to sell their products and services to the federal and state governments. The VI APEX Accelerator is operated by the University of the Virgin Islands and funded by the United States Department of Defense.SUMMARY
As a part‑time Administrative & Marketing Specialist, you will support the APEX Accelerator team by drafting, managing, and posting marketing content, and by assisting with general administrative functions for programs, events, and client outreach.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with the Director to create and post shareable virtual and print media content & flyers, promoting the program’s events, workshops, webinars, and products and services. Post content on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, or any other selected platforms. Plan and execute strategies to increase viewer traffic and engagement across all branded digital platforms. Contribute to and aid in the content creation process for multiple media platforms. Use camera phones and digital cameras for still photography and video. Edit photo/video content for various virtual marketing platforms such as YouTube and similar platforms. Create dynamic written, graphic, and video content. Interact comfortably with business clients’ stakeholders and staff. Engage in brainstorming and team meetings to generate ideas. Understand APEX Accelerator mission, products, and services. Participate in events as required. Assist the APEX Team with preparation of events and client training sessions. Provide administrative support as needed. Work on special projects as assigned by the State Director and Program Specialist. Go through the full cycle of the new client process. Complete a modified onboarding process for familiarity with the VI APEX program.MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
High school diploma or equivalent with education and experience in marketing and social media management. Proficiency in Microsoft 365, video content and editing, and graphic design software. Ability to manage a diverse workload of assignments in a timely manner with strong attention to detail. Independent work ethic; effective oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
