Mechanic

Job Description Jenkins Electric, a Charlotte-based electro‑mechanical repair company, is looking for an experienced AC/DC Electric Motor Mechanic to join our fast‑growing team. Mechanics are responsible for disassembly and inspection of AC and DC motors. Experience in a similar machine shop or motor shop environment is a plus. Responsibilities Disassemble, clean, and examine parts on electromechanical equipment under repair in the motor shop. Assess mechanical condition, identify repair and part replacement needs. Perform mechanical repair tasks including balancing, turning & undercutting, press work, and minor machining. Check windings and install new leads as required. Reassemble, paint and label repaired equipment to ensure a good finished appearance. Maintain company equipment and tooling (regular maintenance). Some overtime and travel may be required. Requirements Basic reading, writing, and advanced arithmetic skills; basic computer skills. Proficiency with standard mechanical repair tools, electrical test tools, press, bearing puller, parts washer, steam cleaner, sandblaster, hoist, forklift. Manual dexterity for operating machinery. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Employee Expectations Perform additional tasks as assigned by the foreman. Share knowledge with co‑workers to aid project completion. Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with co‑workers. Maintain consistent attendance, stay on task during work hours, and be willing to work overtime when asked. Provide feedback to management on areas for improvement. Represent the company favorably with customers and vendors.
