Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Director of Risk & Compliance Officer to join our client in a role that supports key business operations and contributes to important organizational initiatives. This onsite direct hire opportunity in Wilmington, DE offers the chance to provide strategic leadership across regulatory compliance, risk management, security, and operational oversight within a financial services environment. The individual in this position will work closely with executive leadership, guide a team of subject matter experts, and help strengthen organizational controls while supporting long term business objectives. Success in this role requires strong regulatory expertise, leadership capabilities, and an understanding of community focused financial institutions.
Compensation:
$140,000 - $165,000/year
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, normal business hours
Key Responsibilities of the Director of Risk & Compliance Officer:

• Oversee enterprise risk, compliance, security, and regulatory functions to help ensure adherence to industry requirements and internal standards.
• Guide and develop a team of compliance, security, and risk professionals while fostering accountability, collaboration, and operational effectiveness.
• Partner with executive leadership to evaluate organizational risk exposure, recommend strategies, and support sound governance practices.
• Ensure readiness for regulatory reviews, audits, and examinations through effective monitoring, documentation, and control management.
• Support community focused initiatives and contribute to programs that align business activities with regulatory expectations and local market needs.

• Bachelor’s degree required; professional compliance certifications such as CRCM are strongly preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
• Seven or more years of progressive leadership experience within banking, financial services, or a closely related regulatory environment.
• Extensive knowledge of banking regulations, risk management principles, compliance programs, and operational controls beyond lending specific requirements.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage direct reports, and collaborate effectively with senior executives and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with the Wilmington market and an appreciation for the unique operations and community focus of small to midsize financial institutions preferred.
