*$15K Sign on Bonus for Experienced Ultrasonographer NMC is currently recruiting an Ultrasonographer. The position is full-time (72 hours bi-weekly), hours generally vary between 7am - 5pm with variable weekend and on call coverage. Pay Range
$33.00 to $47.44 USD


Ultrasonographer

JOB SUMMARY:


• Operates sonography equipment to produce images under the supervision of the Radiologist following established protocols and procedures.


PRE-REQUISITES:

Education: Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited program. Bachelors degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is preferred.


Certification: Active Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer from the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM), or board eligible. Specialty registration in at least one of the following specialties: Abdomen (AB), Breast (BR), Obstetrics (OB), or Vascular Technology (VT) is required within 6 months of hire. Current BLS certification is required.

• Reports To: Diagnostic Imaging Manager

• Other Contacts: Professional and technological staff, nursing, patients, families, public, hospital staff, students, providers and their staff


SCOPE:


• Machinery or Equipment Used: Computer, basic office equipment, diagnostic imaging equipment, and patient transport devices


• Physical Demands: Occasional: sitting, lifting up to 55 lbs., kneeling, crouching, overhead reaching, downward pull and upward push of 50 lbs. Frequent: bending, squatting, stooping, pushing/pulling. Constant: standing & walking


• Working Conditions: Exposure to electrical, mechanical and radiant energy hazards, possible exposure to blood borne pathogens. Exposure to crisis situations and unpleasant elements of acute traumatic injuries, occasional stress due to work load and competing priorities. Occasional subject to irregular hours


• Required Protective Equipment: gloves, gowns, goggles, masks, face shield as situation requires


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


• Incorporates appropriate assessment and intervention skills in all diagnostic sonography examinations according to American College of Radiology (ACR) guidelines including


• Adapts procedures according to protocol to meet the individual needs of the patient, the provider and the situation

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Excellence: Perform diagnostic sonography exams according to ACR guidelines; adapt procedures based on patient needs and provider requirements.
• Diagnostic Accuracy: Differentiate between normal and abnormal findings and report preliminary interpretations to providers.
• Patient Care: Develop human-care relationships, advocate for patient needs, and provide age-specific care across diverse populations.
• Documentation & Coordination: Manage clinical documentation in electronic systems and coordinate workflow with team members to ensure coverage.
• Professionalism: Maintain a clean environment, participate in peer reviews, and support the preceptorship/student rotation program.

Requirements
