\n \nJob Description:
\nOur client is seeking a mid-level Real Estate Finance Associate/Counsel with a minimum of 4+ years of experience to join their team in New York. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in representing institutional lenders in complex real estate finance transactions.
\n \nKey Responsibilities:
\n- \n
- Represent banks, debt funds and other institutional lenders in real estate finance transactions, including: \n
- Mortgage and mezzanine loans \n
- Construction loans \n
- Loan modifications and workouts \n
- Draft and negotiate loan documents, intercreditor agreements and related finance documentation \n
- Review and analysis of due diligence, title/survey/zoning, corporate structure and documentation, and handle the closing \n
- Coordinate with internal teams, clients and third party vendors \n
- Work directly with clients and participate in strategy discussions and deal structuring \n
- Engage with and strengthen relationships with existing clients \n
- Maintain awareness of legal developments and market trends affecting real estate finance and leasing \n
Qualifications:
\n- \n
- J.D. from an ABA accredited law school \n
- Admitted to practice in New York (additional jurisdictions a plus) \n
- a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience at a top-tier law firm or boutique focused on sophisticated lender representation \n
- Strong knowledge of real estate finance laws and practices, as well as market standards \n
- Excellent drafting, communication and negotiation skills \n
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail \n
- Able to manage multiple transactions and deadlines independently \n
Preferred Skills:
\n- \n
- Experience with syndicated loan structures, intercreditor and co-lender agreements \n
- Exposure to ground leases, sale-leasebacks, and mixed-use developments \n
- Familiarity with REITs, opportunity zones or tax-advantaged structures is a plus \n
