Job Title: Material Handler Job Description

The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing materials, equipment, and other items from stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards. This role requires maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and assisting other workers in stockroom operations.

• Receive and count stock items, recording data manually or using a computer.
• Pack and unpack items for stocking on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
• Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
• Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in various storage areas.
• Label stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
• Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.
• Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
• Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers.

• 0-2 years of experience
• High school diploma or GED

• Forklift Experience
• Ability to conduct Cycle Counts
• Proficiency with Handheld Bar Code Scanners
• Loading and unloading skills
• Dot Hazmat Training
• Multitasking capability
• Knowledge of SAP Applications
• Self-motivated with the ability to efficiently organize and prioritize multiple high-impact projects

The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The environment includes handling various equipment and materials, requiring adherence to safety protocols. Casual attire is appropriate for this role.

This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Chicago,IL.
