Human Resources Specialist

Albany, NY

Fusco Personnel has been retained to recruit for a Human Resources Specialist, for our client located in the Albany, NY area. This is a part-time (30hrs/week), contract to permanent opportunity with a well-respected growing organization.

The ideal candidate is responsible for the administration, coordination, and oversight of employee benefit programs and core human resources functions. Please apply today if you are interested!

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the accuracy, security, and confidentiality of employee personnel records and HR documentation
• Administer employee lifecycle transactions, including status updates, separations, and termination processing
• Monitor and maintain paid time off (PTO) accruals, balances, and usage records
• Oversee the administration of FMLA, ADA accommodations, and disability leave while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws
• Manage leave of absence requests from initiation through completion, including documentation and recordkeeping
• Coordinate COBRA administration by tracking qualifying events, issuing required notifications, and maintaining compliance
• Partner with payroll to facilitate accurate 401(k) eligibility, employee contributions, and payroll deductions
• Act as the primary contact for benefits providers, brokers, and third-party administrators to resolve escalated benefit issues, claims, COBRA matters, and retirement plan administration
• Conduct benefits orientation sessions for newly hired employees as part of the onboarding process
• Educate employees on available benefit plans, eligibility requirements, and enrollment procedures while ensuring timely and accurate elections
• Coordinate new hire onboarding by preparing employment documentation, establishing personnel files, and facilitating orientation programs
• Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, disability, workers' compensation, and voluntary benefit offerings
• Oversee 401(k) plan administration, including eligibility monitoring, enrollment processing, participant communications, contribution updates, and plan changes

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree with a minimum of 2+ years of HR experience
• Strong knowledge of employee benefit programs and human resources administration
• Excellent employee relations, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
• Strong computer proficiency, including HRIS and database systems
• Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail

Salary

$32.00-$35.00/hour
