About the Role
The Company is seeking an Employment & Compliance Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a wide range of employment-related legal matters and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. This role is pivotal in partnering with HR, operations, and leadership to build and maintain scalable compliance programs that support the company's growth and reduce risk. The ideal candidate will have a J.D. from an accredited law school, active bar membership, and 5-10+ years of experience in employment law, with a strong working knowledge of federal employment laws and multi-state compliance. Experience in conducting workplace investigations and a practical, solutions-oriented mindset are essential. Key responsibilities for the Employment & Compliance Attorney include providing legal advice on hiring, discipline, termination, wage and hour compliance, leave and accommodation issues, and employee classification. The role also involves managing pre-litigation and litigation employment claims, developing and implementing compliance programs, and assisting with policy development and training. The candidate should be adept at translating legal requirements into operational policies, supporting audits, and proactive compliance reviews. A background in high-volume, multi-state, or decentralized organizations, particularly in labor-intensive industries, is preferred. The role requires a trusted advisor who can provide business-oriented solutions that align legal compliance with operational needs and who is committed to promoting a culture of legal and regulatory compliance within the company.
