Job Title Dental Hygiene Clinical Instructor Posting Number 2025002P Location Spokane, WA Salary and Benefits $35/hour with bachelor's in Dental Hygiene and registered hygienist in WA $40/hour with bachelor's in Dental Hygiene and a master's in a related field and registered hygienist in WA May become eligible for benefits after 6 months. Responsibilities Interact with students and patients to promote optimal oral health care. Provide written and oral feedback to students, evaluating clinical performance objectively and positively. Assist students in supervising clinic check‑in and check‑out procedures in a timely manner. Model professionalism in all conduct and presentation. Follow institutional dress code, piercings, hair, shoes, PPE, and other standards as required for the course. Be familiar with clinic course syllabi and review enrollment documents in relevant Canvas courses. Use Canvas learning management system for student assessment and grading. Utilize iPad or laptop computers for clinical and laboratory assessment and grading. Be knowledgeable of content in the Clinic Policies and Procedures Manual and provide suggestions for future editions. Attend assigned clinical sessions promptly. Plan and implement assigned stations for clinic workshops. Attend regular faculty in‑service meetings. Receive and apply training in educational methodologies. Work in person at the downtown Spokane campus. Required Qualifications Meet annual continuing education requirements for re‑licensure (15 hours/year) and provide instruction using current scientific methods. Maintain current certification in Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (at least every two years) and provide proof to the operations manager. Maintain current Washington State Dental Hygiene license and provide proof to the operations manager. Document compliance with hepatitis B vaccination or sign a declination form. Document yearly tuberculosis skin testing or sign a declination form. Minimum BA in Dental Hygiene. Meet all background check requirements for University employment. Preferred Qualifications Maintain current membership in a professional association such as the American Dental Hygienists’ Association or the American Dental Association. Have advanced education or certifications related to dental hygiene instruction. Other Skills and Abilities Ability to work independently. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff. Work Schedule AM shift: 7:45 am – 12:00 pm. PM shift: 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Tuesday and Wednesday assistance is especially needed. Please specify availability in your cover letter.
