Job Description
This role offers an opportunity for a highly skilled electronics technician with a strong technical background to join a service-focused team. You will calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair instruments and systems returned for service, working primarily in areas such as service support and metrology. The position requires troubleshooting down to the component level and ensuring that all work meets quality, accuracy, and customer satisfaction standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform calibrations using various primary standards and measurement and test equipment (M&TE) in accordance with prescribed work instructions.
- Prepare all required documentation and maintain accurate, up-to-date records related to calibrations, repairs, and service activities.
- Analyze calibration data, identify trends, and communicate findings to the appropriate departments to support continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
- Escalate unusual or complex product issues to the appropriate department for further investigation and resolution.
- Maintain all standards and M&TE in proper working order, ensuring they are calibrated, organized, and ready for use.
- Work in a laboratory setting to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair measurement equipment or components returned to the service center by customers.
- Resolve technical problems by identifying root causes and implementing effective repair or calibration solutions.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance services on measurement equipment to ensure reliability and performance.
- Use electronic, electrical, and mechanical test equipment and lab tools to diagnose issues at the component level.
- Follow established procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards in all calibration and repair activities.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to share technical information and support efficient workflow.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by demonstrating a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
Essential Skills
- Associate of Science degree with a focus in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent work experience, or a Bachelor of Science in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or another technical discipline.
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience gained through education, lab work, or professional roles.
- Ability to troubleshoot electronic systems and components down to the component level.
- Understanding of basic metrology concepts, including familiarity with ISO-related practices (preferred but not strictly required).
- Experience working with electronic, electrical, and mechanical test equipment and lab equipment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to document work clearly and communicate findings effectively.
- Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs to handle equipment and instruments safely.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in calibration, testing, and documentation.
- Ability to work well in a team setting and contribute positively to a collaborative environment.
- Demonstrated good attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn and succeed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience troubleshooting electronic test equipment.
- At least 6 months of experience using automated test systems.
- Soldering experience for component-level repair and rework.
- Exposure to or experience with ISO standards and metrology-related quality systems.

- Comfort working with both electronic and mechanical aspects of lab and test equipment.
Work Environment
This role is based at a laboratory and service center environment that focuses on calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of measurement equipment. You will work extensively with electronic, electrical, mechanical, and lab test equipment, as well as primary standards and measurement and test equipment (M&TE). The position follows a swing shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with an initial training period for approximately the first two months on a 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. schedule. The environment emphasizes safety, precision, and adherence to documented procedures and ISO-related practices. You will spend much of your time in a lab setting, handling instruments and components, performing detailed calibrations and repairs, and working closely with a team of technical professionals.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $32.40 - $32.40/hr.
