Certified Surgical Technologist

Job Summary:

The Certified Scrub Tech is responsible for preparing the operating room and assisting during surgical procedures to ensure a sterile and safe environment. Key functions include preparing patients for surgery, assisting with patient positioning and draping, maintaining surgical counts, operating and maintaining surgical equipment, and cleaning and restocking the operating room post-surgery. This role requires strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols. Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures.
• Assist during surgery by providing sterile instruments and supplies.
• Prepare patients for surgery by cleansing and disinfecting incision sites.
• Assist with patient positioning and draping to maintain a sterile field.
• Maintain accurate surgical counts of sponges, needles, and instruments to prevent retained surgical items.
• Operate and maintain surgical equipment, including lights, suction machines, and sterilization tools.
• Clean and restock the operating room after surgery.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• High school diploma.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
• Current and unrestricted Colorado state licensure as a CST.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• At least one year of related experience preferred.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in an operating room or surgical environment.

Special Considerations:

• Position requires strict adherence to sterile techniques and safety protocols.
• Work performed in a surgical center environment.
• May require standing for extended periods and handling surgical instruments safely.

Scheduling:

• Monday through Friday, daytime shifts.
