Respiratory Research Specialist

Respiratory Research Specialist

Nemours is seeking a Respiratory Research Specialist to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Wilmington, DE.

The Respiratory Research Specialist provides leadership, assistance, support and education in the development, implementation, evaluation, enhancement, and maintenance of a comprehensive pediatric respiratory research program which would enhance the outcomes of the pediatric and respiratory departments and establish Nemours as a leader in the research field.

Develops pediatric research goals in collaboration with members of the Departments of Respiratory Care, Pediatrics and Research, clinical staff, physicians, members of other health care disciplines, and patients/families.

  • Manuscript and Abstract Preparation
  • Grant Development and Funding Acquisition
  • Protocol Compliance and IRB Coordination
  • Education and Mentorship
  • Innovation and Procedure Development
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration
  • Presentation and Dissemination
  • Maintain Research Equipment and Supplies
  • Attend and participate appropriately in department research meetings and activities
  • Adhere to attendance policies as outlined by Nemours
  • Demonstrates close attention to detail and provides immediate follow-up on concerns or issues
  • Maintains patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPPA regulations and Nemours policies
  • Participate in hospital-wide research initiatives, journal clubs, or interdisciplinary research forums to foster a culture of inquiry and innovation
  • Collaborate on QI initiatives that intersect with research findings or data trends, especially those impacting respiratory therapy outcomes

Requirements

Master's Degree

DE RRT license; AHA BLS certification

NPS (neonatal pediatric specialist), AE-C (asthma certified educator), PA/NJ licensed, AHA PALS/ACLS, NRP preferred
