Solid Waste / Landfill Engineering Project Manager

The Role

A well-established, employee-owned civil and environmental engineering consultancy is growing its Southeast Waste Management practice. We are looking for a Solid Waste / Landfill Engineering Project Manager to join one of three priority office locations.

You will lead design, permitting and construction-phase services for solid waste disposal facilities covering MSW, CCR and industrial waste across both private and public/government clients. This is a genuine PM seat: you will own projects from proposal through delivery, not just execute on someone else's plan.

Day-to-day, expect a mix of:

• Landfill system design (liners, leachate and stormwater infrastructure, gas collection, grading, site roadways)
• Airspace and earthwork volume calculations
• Permit applications, design reports, construction documents, specs and cost estimates
• CQA coordination during construction
• Client, contractor and regulatory agency liaison
• Mentoring and QC of junior staff work

What They Are Looking For

• 5 to 15+ years of solid waste / landfill engineering experience (level dependent on background)
• Proven track record in design, permitting and CQA for waste disposal facilities
• PE license (or ability to obtain licensure in NC/TN)
• BS in Civil, Geotechnical or Environmental Engineering (MS preferred)
• Proficiency in Civil 3D and MS Office
• Business development and client management experience a strong plus
