Cafe Server – Scramble Parkour Location: Shirlington Village, Arlington, VA At Scramble Parkour, our Cafe Servers play an important role in delivering exceptional dining experiences for children and families. This position is similar to a restaurant server, with responsibility for taking café orders at dedicated tables and service counters, coordinating with the kitchen and main café counter, and ensuring food and beverages are delivered accurately, promptly, and to the satisfaction of our guests. The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, and sales-minded, with a passion for customer service and the ability to recommend menu items, promote café and kitchen offerings, and create a positive dining experience. Success in this role comes from building guest relationships, increasing café sales, and working collaboratively with the team in a fast-paced environment. Duties & Responsibilities Greet guests, take café orders at designated tables and service counters, and provide friendly, attentive service throughout their visit. Promote and upsell café and kitchen menu items by making recommendations, highlighting offerings, and identifying opportunities to enhance each guest's order. Coordinate food and beverage orders between guests, the kitchen, and the main café counter to ensure accurate and timely preparation and delivery. Deliver food and beverages promptly, confirm order accuracy, and follow up with guests to ensure satisfaction. Process customer transactions using Scramble’s point-of-sale system and accurately communicate orders to the appropriate preparation area. Maintain café cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards. Assist with food preparation, restocking, and inventory management as needed. Support party and event service by coordinating food orders and providing attentive service to hosts and guests. Communicate effectively with kitchen and café team members to maintain efficient service and a smooth guest experience. Follow Scramble policies and procedures to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Assist in other operational areas as needed to support daily operations. Qualifications Strong customer service, communication, and sales skills. Ability to confidently recommend menu items and upsell café and kitchen offerings without compromising the guest experience. Ability to multitask, prioritize orders, and remain organized in a fast-paced environment. Dependable, professional, and team-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and initiative. Ability to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure timely service. Positive attitude and a genuine interest in creating a welcoming dining experience for families. Flexible schedule with availability on weekends and holidays. Education & Experience High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous restaurant serving, café, food service, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred. Experience taking table orders, coordinating kitchen tickets, delivering food, and upselling menu items is a plus. Basic computer proficiency and comfort learning POS systems. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods.
