Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations in the field, working alongside police officers to assess the need for involuntary detention under 5150/5585 standards. \n
- Provide essential training to law enforcement staff on de-escalation techniques and mental health awareness to improve the outcomes and safety for individuals in crisis. \n
- Deliver short-term crisis counseling to non-violent patients experiencing mental health episodes, ensuring they receive immediate care and referrals for ongoing support. \n
- Maintain comprehensive and meticulous records of confidential patient information, adhering to HIPAA standards and organizational policies. \n
- Effectively communicate with law enforcement, community service units, hospital staff, and psychiatrists to coordinate appropriate mental health interventions. \n
- Accompany law enforcement on mental health response calls, providing real-time insights and support to navigate complex situations successfully. \n
The target patient population includes community members facing mental health crises, as well as individuals who have been apprehended and require immediate emotional support. Your direct involvement in crisis intervention is aimed at fostering a supportive environment that encourages recovery and reduces recidivism rates associated with mental health issues.
Qualifications\n- \n
- Possession of a current and valid Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) license in California. \n
- A bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is required, with further clinical training considered an asset. \n
- Strong ability to prioritize and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. \n
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is essential. \n
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. \n
- A professional demeanor with a positive attitude and a proven capacity to remain calm during high-stress situations. \n

- Previous clinical experience, particularly in psychiatric settings, is highly preferred. \n
