The LVN practices independently within the LVN scope of practice and utilizes critical thinking skills in daily practice. The LVN serves as a mentor for emergency department technicians and maintains a professional attitude and appearance at all times. The LVN demonstrates knowledge related to the care of the emergency department patient and monitors patients for changes in condition or status and intervenes appropriately in a timely fashion. The LVN uses effective verbal and written skills to communicate with people on all levels and is able to maintain positive working relationships with patients, families, co-workers, and physicians.
