ACLS Candidates who have had clinical experience in higher acuity mixed (medical/cardiac) PICUs. Preferred Experience with CVICU, post op hearts. Preferred Previous Charge Experience. Preferred Teaching Hospital Experience. Preferred Trauma Level I Experience. Preferred NRP. Preferred CCRN. Preferred Other Details Charting system: Epic (strong EPIC needed) Will float to less or like units when needed where qualified, including 10N Intermediate Care Unit, 10S Hem/Onc Unit (not BMT), 9S Surgical Acute Care and 9N Medical Acute Care. Candidate will only be expected to practice within their scope. Patient Ratio Experience: 1:1 Unit Information The Doernbecher PICU cares for critically ill neonatal, pediatric, and young adult patients. We care for patients with medical, surgical, cardiac, oncologic, and trauma diagnoses. We also care for patients requiring advanced modalities of treatment including continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). Special procedures: bedside procedures including central line placement, arterial line placement, lumbar puncture, intubations/extubations, CRRT initiation/discontinuation, ECMO cannulations/decannulations, chest exploration, and any other emergent operative procedures for a patient who is too unable to transport to the OR. Special equipment: Hamilton G5 ventilators, DirectLink ICP monitors, Artic Sun targeted temperature management, Baxer Prismaflex machines. Preferred: NRP. Candidates who have had clinical experience in higher-acuity mixed (medical/cardiac) PICUs. Orientation & Start Dates PICU Epic is virtual and must be completed before orientation. Rolling start dates; only 2 candidates per orientation accepted. Unit orientation dates vary based on candidate availability and facility bandwidth. Weekends are acceptable but candidates must commit to picking up badge and confirm access prior to orientation. Facility expectation is RN picks up shifts immediately following orientation completion. Shift Details 12 hours. Night shift.
