Heavy Equipment Technician

Responsibilities Perform complex preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment (including Trucks and Yellow Iron such as Track Type Tractors, Dozers, Excavators, Motor Graders, Wheel Loaders, Wheel Handlers, Front-end Loaders, Haul Trucks, Tractors, forklifts, and company support vehicles). Diagnose and repair engines, hydraulic systems, powertrain components, air conditioning systems, and electrical systems. Follow preventative maintenance schedules and guidelines; document work performed, parts used, and duration of time. Complete records such as work orders, PM checklists, and oil samples. Utilize a tablet to document work performed, parts used and duration of time. Service and maintain other equipment such as light plants, water pumps, welders, and related equipment. Refer to site-specific procedures and job descriptions. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications 3 years\' experience in maintenance & repair of diesel heavy equipment (yellow iron). High School Diploma or G.E.D. Ability to troubleshoot and identify electrical/mechanical issues and complete tasks safely and timely. Ability to read and comprehend service manuals, electrical and hydraulic schematics. Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office) and effective communication on cell phone and tablet. Acceptable driving record; must possess personal tools. Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. Strong problem solving, oral communication, and analytical abilities. Preferred Qualifications Welder Certification with full fabrication knowledge (Mig/Tig/Arc/Oxy Acetylene/brazing). Knowledge of MS Office & Outlook. Physical requirements as listed: standing, walking, seeing, hearing, smelling; bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs.; occasional exposure to unprotected heights and to dust, fumes, chemicals, and noise. 401K, Employee Assistance Program, Life Insurance, Paid Vacation and Sick Time, and recognition programs. Schedule: Monday - Friday from 3:30 am - 11:00 am with rotating Saturdays. Hourly wage range: $37.41 - $44.70/hour. Compensation and Benefits Base pay range: $37.41/hr - $44.70/hr.
