Travel RN – Cardiac Step-Down (IMC/PCU)

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 40-bed cardiac step-down unit serving patients with CHF, MI, chest pain, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, and post-procedural cardiac patients (cath/stent, pacer/ICD/ablation)
• Manage and titrate cardiac IV medications including nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin drip, heparin, and diuretics
• Operate unit equipment including Zoll monitors, Baxter pumps, lift equipment, and bladder scanners within a Cerner EMR environment
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4, with stretch staffing up to 1:5 as needed
• Assist with or perform bedside cardioversion procedures
• Float to MedSurg, Stepdown, and ER holding units as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of stepdown or progressive care (PCU) experience
• Telemetry experience required
• Demonstrated experience with titratable and cardiac IV medications
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with prostacyclin therapies (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin)
• Relief charge nurse experience
